Asian Games: Gilas Pilipinas lost to South Korea
Another heartbreak by Gilas Pilipinas as they lost to South Korea, 91-82 in the quarterfinals of the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Philippines will now play in the Classification for 5th-8th place.
Jordan Clarkson led Gilas with 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Christian Standhardinger with 16 points and 9 rebounds and Stanley Pringle with 14 points.
Gilas Pilipinas still led by 1 at the start of the 4th quarter but Korea waxed hot from three and dominated in rebounding to seal the win and advance to the semifinals. Former PBA import Ricardo Ratliffe led Korea with 30 points and 14 rebounds.
Philippines actually shot better in the 3-point line making 12 out of 29 while South Korea was 12/34. Gilas Pilipinas will face Japan in the Classification for 5th-8th place on August 28, 5pm.
