Batang Gilas beat Lebanon by 22 to start their FIBA U18 Asia Campaign
Batang Gilas defeated Lebanon, 75-53 in their opening game of the 2018 FIBA U18 Asian Championship in Thailand. Sean Dave Ildefonso led Philippines with 19 points.
Ariel John Edu also made his debut for Batang Gilas with a double double – 17 points, 12 rebounds and also with 5 block shots. Kai Sotto also had a solid game with 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Fil-Italian Dalph Panopio with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals in his Philippine Team debut. Batang Gilas outrebounded Lebanon, 61-36 and also with more assists, 19-8.
Also the debut of Josh Reyes as head coach of Batang Gilas.
