Batang Gilas lost to Australia, 77-43 in the semifinals of the 2018 FIBA U18 Asian Championship held in Thailand. Philippines will face China in the Battle for 3rd Place tomorrow, August 11.

No Batang Gilas player in double figures, Ariel John Edu with 9 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks for Philippines while Kai Sotto was held to just 2 points but grabbed 8 rebounds.

Gerry Abadiano scored 8 points, Xyrus Torres and Raven Cortez with 6 points each.

After leading by just 2 points at the end of the 1st quarter, Australia held Batang Gilas Pilipinas to just 8 points in both the 2nd and 3rd quarters.

The 77 points of Australia was their lowest so far in the FIBA U18 Asia 2018.

    Bad coaching. The boys are talented and capable of winning, however they focus on one on one plays. No set plays made for open shots. Poor box out rebounding and defense
