Gilas Pilipinas beat Qatar led by Aguilar and Cabagnot

Gilas Pilipinas defeated Qatar, 92-81 in the 4th window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers in a closed-door game at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Japeth Aguilar and Alex Cabagnot led Philippines with 16 points each, Aguilar also with 9 rebounds. Stanley Pringle, who replace Christian Standhardinger as our naturalized player in this game scored 13 points.

Beau Belga with 11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. Mohd Yousuf Mohmmed led Qatar with 26 points. Gilas just shot 9.38% from the three-point line (3/32) but shot 61.7% (28/47) from 2.

Qatar led by as much as 17 points in the 1st half and led the game by 13 at the half. Gilas Pilipinas had a great 3rd quarter comeback with 28 points and limited Qatar to just 12 points and finally taking over in the last quarter..

Philippines now with a 5-3 record at the end of the 4th window of the FIBA Qualifiers. Next window will be this November 2018.
