Gilas Pilipinas lost to Iran, 81-73 in the 4th window of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers held in Tehran, Iran. Christian Standhardinger led Philippines with 30 points and 12 rebounds.

Alex Cabagnot with 9 points in his Gilas debut at 35 years old. Beau Belga with 7 points. Paul Lee scored 6 points but was injured in the 4th quarter. It was a physical game as we saw a bloodied Marcio Lassiter and Beau Belga early in the game but both came back to play again for Gilas.

Mohammadsamad Nik Khahbahrami led Iran with 20 points. Hamed Haddadi played only in the final minutes of the game.

Gilas Pilipinas just shot 17.86% (5/28) from the three-point line and missed 7 free throws total (18/25). Philippines now with a 4-3 record.

Next game will be against Qatar on September 17, 7:30pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in a closed door game as part of the sanction of FIBA due to the Gilas-Australia brawl.
