Perlas 3×3 now eliminated in the FIBA 3×3 World Cup
Perlas Pilipinas 3×3 composed of Afril Bernardino, Jack Danielle Animam, Janine Pontejos and Gemma Miranda finished the tournament with an 0-4 record but not without a fight in Day 3 of the FIBA 3×3 World Cup at the Philippine Arena.
Janine Pontejos waxed hot from 2 and finished with 13 points as Philippines lost a close game against Spain, 21-17. Against Hungary, Philippines led early in the game but got into early foul trouble as they lost to Hungary, 18-15, Janine Pontejos again led the Women’s team with 7 points.
This was the first time a Philippine Women’s Team joined the FIBA 3×3 World Cup.
