congrats to gilas kahit paano nakapasok sa semi finals.paano na yan natalo na tayo sa iran.sabi nga natin eh.aguilar is better than any pinoy bigman.sayang wala tayong pinantapat na malaki.look at iran malalaki sila mabibilis pa.kailangan talaga natin ang malalaking player.sayang na pagkakataon.well wait 4 another a years.hehe.cgurado 4th place na tau jan.malakas din ang quatar.sa susunod sana palakihin natin ang line up.ang iba kasi sinasabing di pa matured c japeth eh.e martami naman siyang kayang gawin.kasi malaki sya at athletic mjo mailang din ang kalaban sa kanya.

Athletic body, quick and tall player(6.9-7.2)I think the only lacking cager in our national Basketball squad. This, perhaps, cannot be scouted in a pure filipino, fil- american, Fil-European and in any other mestizo players, but on other nationalities that can be naturalized being a filipino. Doughtit is a strong player but he needs a back up.

we need quicker big men, accuracy and efficiency in shooting,,,hope that gilas 2 will bring the bronze for our country today go gilas…

tama kayo dyan guys.. in addition we should also consider greg slaughter and jun fajardo. for the dribble and drive philosophy, palagay ko pwd na din iconsider si alex mallari and the beast alvin

50/50 na naman yang laban for third place. Just like the last stancovic/Fiba, matapos na di pumasok sa finals natalo rin para sa third place. Sobrang dinadaga kasi pag malalaki na ang kalaban…wala silang pang depensa at for rebound sa malalaki ng middle eastern team, then hesitant na rin mga tira sa outside.Kaylangan talaga ng gilas additional big men who can depend the big man ng kalaban. Dapat hinahasa na mga big men natin like fajardo and slaughter.
Di pupwedi ang sentro nating pang back-up kay douthit is only 6’6″ or 6’7″.

It’s to late para sisihin pa ung line up na binuo ni coach chot. kaya naman nilang tapatan ung iran kung gumana nga lang ung shooting ng mga wingman ng RP. di naman kailangan ng malaking mga players pra tumapat lang sa kanila look at what LA tenorio has done? pinaglalaruan nya lang ung kalaban. i guess what the team needs more is consistency. and much team work… they can do it.. i believe in this line up.

  7. alex says:

big men big men this is what the team needs to compete well or next yrs fiba asia. i agree with ferdie that japeth is a very good addition. maybe another big man like greg slaughter to come in for marcus if needed

  8. Alexander says:

Coach Rajiko Toroman is the better coach for FIBA Asia Championship 2013. If I were you Chot Reyes, just leave Smart Gilas and give it back to Toroman. Didn’t you realized some of the players you chose is only thinking of their careers in PBA especially for its Opening Ceremony these September 30, 2012? PBA players are not NBA players. They cannot adjust right away for team chemistry in a short period of time.Your choice of players shows your incompetency to Iternational type of Basketball. How many times did you failed to bring back the glory to the Philippines? PBA Management sucks. PBA is not good for International Competition. It is only good within the Philippines. So why don’t you create a pool of players for long term National Pool like what Rajiko Toroman did? Look at our rank on FIBA? Politics politics politics…

  9. jerome says:

this is a response to ferdie.. cmon men.. dont be such a negative thinker.. 4th place??. bakit tpos n ba ang lban? yes maybe qatar is a tough team, bakit ang pinoy di ba mlakas?? para nmn ndi ka pinoy niyan eh.. yes japeth maybe athletic, maybe he is tall.. pero ilang rebounds ba nkukuha nya sa international league? even in the pba? stats tells us everything.. but i agree. in order to develop him, we need to exposed him to different tournaments like this. “experience is our best teacher”…japeth has a lot of potential..

  10. Juniski says:

Why do we have to bring players that cannot use on critical games (sayang pamasahe)? We should not waste the Gilas program. No enough time for experiment. It’s time to have Gilas 2.1 with the following adjustment: Williams for Villanueva, Japeth for JR Reyes, James Yap for Jeff Chan, Caguioa for Gary David, Arwind Santos for Fonacier, and Jason Castro or Ryan Reyes or Lee for Ganuelas.
