ABL Finals: Alab Pilipinas won Game 1 in OT

San Miguel Alab Pilipinas defeated Mono Vampire of Thailand, 143-130 in Game 1 of the 2017-2018 ASEAN Basketball League Finals held last April 22 at the Sta Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex in Laguna.

Import Justin Brownlee led Alab with 46 points along with 11 rebounds and 9 assists while Renaldo Balkman with 39 points and 15 rebounds including the putback that forced overtime.

Former Gilas Bobby Ray Parks Jr scored 27 points and was 10/16 from the field, the reigning ABL local MVP also with 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block.

Former PBA import Mike Singletary led Mono with 42 points while heritage import Paul Zamar with 25 points for Thailand. Fil-Am Jason Brickman with 15 points, 14 assists and 5 steals.

7’4 Sam Deguara of Mono with 21 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks but fouled out at the end of regulation.
