Batang Gilas beat Malaysia led by Kai Sotto
Batang Gilas defeated Malaysia, 62-57 in their opening game of the 2018 FIBA U16 Asian Championship in Foshan, China. Kai Sotto led Philippines with 14 points, 16 rebounds, 2 assist and 4 blocks.
Terrence Fortea scored 13 points but was just 1/11 from the three-point line. Raven Cortez with a double-double for Batang Gilas – 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Philippines outrebounded Malaysia, 79-60 but Batang Gilas was just 2/27 from three. John Tang Jun Kai led Malaysia with 17 points.
