Christian Standhardinger

With Gilas Pilipinas out of medal contention in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup, Christian Standhardinger left Lebanon already and will join the Gilas Pilipinas SEA Games Team to Malaysia in time for their 1st game on August 20 vs Thailand.

Christian Standhardinger averaged 16 points and 5.7 rebounds in 3 games for Gilas in the FIBA Asia Cup.

Gilas Pilipinas will stay play in the Classification for 5th-8th place from August 19-20 in Beirut and will only have 11 players. Carl Bryan Cruz is also part of the Gilas Pilipinas SEA Games Team but currently still in Lebanon as Mac Belo is set to replace him pending approval from the SEA Games organizers. If replacement is disallowed, CBC might still play vs Lebanon in the FIBA Asia Cup and will fly out and join Gilas Pilipinas in Malaysia after but may miss 1-2 games in the SEA Games.

Good Luck Christian, nice performance in the FIBA Asia, I expect that you perform more in the Southeat Asian Games. Wishing you to join the PBA draft come October, and build your basketball career here in the Philippines.

Good move for Christian to join the Malaysia mission early. He is much needed there now that we are already out of medal contention in Lebanon. I also wish that Christian play for ALAB Pilipinas instead of any other country. Keep up the good work Pare!
