Douthit in full support of Blatche Naturalization
Although the spot of Marcus Douthit in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup may be taken from him by Andray Blatche, Douthit expressed his Full Support for the Naturalization of Andray Blatche and even attended the hearing in Congress last week with Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes and Congressman Yeng Guiao.
The House Justice Committee approved House Bill 3783 (Naturalization of Andray Blatche) by Congressman Robbie Puno with the condition that Andray Blatche will express his desire to become a Filipino citizen at the Philippine Embassy in New York for it to be on record. Blatche cannot attend the hearing due to the ongoing NBA Season in which he plays for the Brooklyn Nets.
Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes assured the committee that Andray Blatche is committed to play for our Country and is always in contact with Andray Blatche himself and his agent.
Due to the injury of JaVale McGee recently, House Bill 3784 (Naturalization of JaVale McGee) was pulled out but maybe filed again in the future.
