With the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Qualifiers tipping off on Thursday, November 23, the free FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 app – presented by Global FIBA Partner Tissot – has been launched.

The app is the most versatile platform to follow all of the action worldwide on the Road to China 2019 – complementing all of FIBA’s digital properties – by providing a unique personalization experience for every fan. During both the Qualifiers and World Cup, users can select and follow up to 3 favorite teams and 10 favorite players. In doing so, their experience is fully customized and gives them complete control of what they want to access instantly.

Developed by Infront’s subsidiary OMNIGON, the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

Thanks to the app, fans all around the world can experience the very best of the Qualifiers and the World Cup right at their fingertips in one centralized location. Following the conclusion of the Qualifiers, the app will be updated to offer new features for a unique coverage of basketball’s biggest competition, both on local and worldwide phones.

On Thursday, the Road to China 2019 gets underway with 80 teams around the globe doing battle to clinch their spots at the first-ever 32-team FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The release of the app comes on the back of the successful launch of the ‘This Is My House’ campaign – another important digital milestone in the lead-up to the World Cup – and is part of FIBA’s constant and ongoing drive to cater to fans who, more and more, consume its major competitions on mobile.

Patrick Baumann, FIBA Secretary General and International Olympic Committee (IOC) Member, said: “We are excited to launch the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 app to offer the most complete experience of the Road to China 2019. We know how important national team pride is to fans all around the world and are convinced that millions of them will follow their respective country as they look to qualify for our sport’s biggest competition. This state-of-the-art digital tool is the perfect platform for them to experience the World Cup, from the opening Qualifier on November 23 and all the way to the Final on September 15, 2019.”
