Gilas Pilipinas Basketball

Gilas Pilipinas was complete for the 1st time with just a few days to go before their 1st match in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup against China on August 9 in Beirut, Lebanon.

After missing practice the last few days due to personal reasons, Calvin Abueva attended the Gilas Pilipinas practice last night, July 31 at the Meralco Gym.

Gilas players in attendance last night: Calvin Abueva, Japeth Aguilar, Raymond Almazan, Jayson Castro, Carl Bryan Cruz, June Mar Fajardo, Jio Jalalon, Gabe Norwood, Roger Pogoy, Terrence Romeo, Christian Standhardinger and Matthew Wright. These 12 will represent Philippines in the FIBA Asia Cup.

Also in attendance last night who play in the SEA Games: Kevin Ferrer, Raymar Jose, Von Pessumal, Kobe Paras, Bobby Ray Parks, Kiefer Ravena, Mike Tolomia and Almond Vosotros. Mac Belo and Ed Daquioag was also present last night.

It was also the eve of the birthday of Coach Chot Reyes, who was born today, August 1 as the team had a surprise greeting for the Gilas Head Coach.
