Gilas Pilipinas grouped with India & Chinese-Taipei in FIBA Asia Challenge
2016 FIBA Asia Challenge from September 9-18 in Tehran, Iran which will be represented by Gilas Pilipinas 5.0
Preliminary Round Groups: (1st Round)
Group A: China, Jordan and Kazakhstan
Group B: Philippines, India and Chinese Taipei
Group C: Iran, Qatar and Iraq
Group D: Japan, Korea and Thailand
Philippines will go up against India and Chinese-Taipei in the preliminary round. No elimination on 1st round. Record from 1st round will carry over to the 2nd round.
2nd Round Groups:
Group E: China, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Philippines, India and Chinese Taipei
Group F: Iran, Qatar, Iraq, Japan, Korea and Thailand
In the 2nd round, Philippines will play against China, Jordan and Kazakhstan. Top 4 teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals.
