USA eliminates Argentina, will face Spain in the semis
USA with a big win over Argentina while Spain beat France, as the two will face each other in the 2016 Rio Olympics Basketball Semifinals.
USA defeated Argentina, 105-78 led by Kevin Durant with 27 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists including 7/9 from the three-point range. Paul George contributed 17 points and 8 rebounds while DeMarcus Cousins scored 15 points for Team USA.
Luis Scola scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Argentina as they are now eliminated. In his last game for Argentina, Manu Ginobili scored 14 points and with 7 assists and 3 rebounds.
In the other Quarterfinals game, Spain eliminated France, 92-67 led by Nikola Mirotic with 23 points. Pau Gasol with just 5 points and 8 rebounds.
Tony Parker also played in his last game for France as he led the team in scoring with 14 points.
Spain has the edge over US cagers, under the boards,…european basketball,as well as, Australia, are adept in attacking the center on incursions & blind passes,either, inside for 7-ft burly centers & forwards,or outside back passes for sniping treys,…which reveals the weak half-court defense of the Americans.
