Gilas Pilipinas was named Athlete of the Year for 2013 by the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA). Gilas Pilipinas won the Silver Medal in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship and earned a spot in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.
