Moala Tautuaa as Gilas Naturalized Player?

SBP is considering Moala Tautuaa to be naturalized so he can play for Gilas Pilipinas in future tournaments just like Marcus Douthit and Andray Blatche. Tautuaa is projected to be the No. 1 Pick in the upcoming PBA Draft which Talk N Text owns.

Moala Tautuaa is currently not eligible to play for Gilas Pilipinas in FIBA Tournaments even though he is part Filipino and holds a Philippine Passport because of the FIBA rule that states that he should have claimed his Philippine Passport before turning 16.

He is set to join Gilas Pilipinas as a practice player. If he is naturalized in the future, at least we have a backup naturalized player in case Andray Blatche becomes unavailable or is injured and of course cheaper than what MVP pays Blatche.

Moala Tautuaa was born in the USA, his father is from Tonga (just like Asi Taulava) and his Mother is a Filipina.
