Defending champions San Miguel Beermen won their 1st game of the 2015-2016 Philippine Cup by beating GlobalPort Batang Pier, 97-86 led by June Mar Fajardo with 21 points and 17 rebounds. ROY Stanley Pringle led Batang Pier with 20 points while Terrence Romeo was limited by SMB to just 5 points.
