Gabe Norwood is back in the Gilas Pilipinas line-up and will play in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup from Aug 8-20 in Beirut, Lebanon. This will be the 5th FIBA Asia Tournament for Gabe Norwood as he also represented Philippines in 2007, 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2017.

Happy Birthday to Gilas Pilipinas players Raymond Almazan (Born August 2, 1989 in Bataan) and Jio Jalalon (Born August 2, 1992 in Cagayan de Oro).
Jiovani Jalalon was born on August 2, 1992 in Cagayan de Oro and has represented Gilas Pilipinas in the 2017 SEABA Championship, 2017 Jones Cup and will wear Gilas uniform again in the upcoming 2017 FIBA Asia Cup.

Gilas Pilipinas was complete for the 1st time with just a few days to go before their 1st match in the 2017 FIBA Asia Cup against China on August 9 in Beirut, Lebanon.
Japan won the 2017 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup Title after beating Australia, 74-73 while Perlas Pilipinas finished 7th place after defeating North Korea and will stay in Division A in the next FIBA Women’s Asia Cup.
Perlas Pilipinas defeated North Korea, 78-63 in the Battle for 7th place of the 2017 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup. Allana May Lim led Perlas with 16 points.
