Noise quickly circulated from the crowd watching the Gilas Pilipinas-Singapore game last Saturday night in the 2017 SEABA Championships when many-time national team member Marc Pingris was shown on the big screen late in the fourth quarter of what was already a lopsided affair.
Gilas won the match, 113-66 to improve to 2-0 in the tournament standings.
Gilas Pilipinas picked up their second straight win in the 2017 SEABA Championships in Manila after a dominant 113-66 victory over Singapore Saturday, May 13 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines.
Five players finished in double-digits for Gilas which improved to 2-0 early in the tournament, tying Indonesia and Thailand on top of the team standings.
Calvin Abueva once again led the way for the Philippines, scoring 16 points on 50 percent shooting. He also had five rebounds and three assists.
Gilas Pilipinas beat Singapore, 113-66 in Day 2 of the 2017 SEABA Championship led by Calvin Abueva with 16 points and Matthew Wright with 13 points.

Gilas Pilipinas opened the 2017 SEABA Championships in Manila, Philippines with a bang on Friday night as they totally outclassed Myanmar, 147-40.
Some may say that the way Gilas went hard at their lowly competitors for the entire match is too much, but wing man Calvin Abueva thinks otherwise.
“Dito, sinasabi nila na yun nga, overkill, pero actually, hindi naman eh, nilalabas lang natin ang laro natin, kasi ito yung lugar natin eh, ito yung nakakapagbigay ng motivation sa amin, ng saya, kaya nakakapaglaro kami ng maayos dahil sa suporta (nila),” Abueva said.
