Slim, fit and ready to rock for Gilas … he's arriving Manila on May 27 … Dray would've flown in May 15 but his mom is undergoing surgery May 24 in South Carolina so he's staying to be with her … his mom celebrated her birthday the other day and Dray surprised her with a 2016 Escalade!!! Dray will fly out of Atlanta … to keep in shape, Dray has been running 10 miles up and down Stone Mountain every other morning, swims, works out, does basketball drills and eats healthy … Dray said he's got a good feeling Gilas will win the FIBA Olympic qualifier … I think this will be our year, he said … Dray said his only focus is Gilas and he's committed to the Philippines, the Filipino people, the fans and the Gilas program … he said he can't wait to start practice with coach Tab and his Gilas teammates @draylive #FIBAOQT #gilaspilipinaspuso #LabanPilipinasPuso

As posted by Quinito Henson in his Instagram Account, Andray Blatche looks slim and fit and is ready to lead Gilas Pilipinas in the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Andray Blatche was supposed to arrive last May 15 but was granted leave for 1-2 weeks to attend to his sick mother in the US. Blatche will join Gilas by the end of the month the latest as Gilas Pilipinas resumes practice today, May 18 in preparation for the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament this July at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Andray Blatche will once again be part of Gilas Pilipinas in the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament and also in the 2016 Rio Olympic if we qualify.

Blatche already played for Philippines in 2 major tournaments: 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain and 2015 FIBA Asia Championship in China but this will be the 1st time that he will play with home-court crowd.

According to Manny V. Pangilinan or MVP, FIBA made them choose between using Andray Blatche and Jordan Clarkson and the SBP and the Gilas Pilipinas Coaching Staff decided to stick with Blatche since choosing Clarkson will result in a more complicated process.
