Since 1951, our Philippine National Basketball Teams were able to take home the Gold Medal 5 times, in the 1st four Asian Games (1951, 1954, 1958, 1962) and in 2023. In between that, the closest we had was a Silver Medal in 1990, then Bronze medals in 1986 and in 1998 where Tim Cone was the head coach of our Philippine Centennial Team and also the coach of Gilas Pilipinas in 2023.
Gilas Pilipinas Women’s Basketball Team will face Kazakhstan, Hong Kong and Japan in the preliminary round of the 2023 Asian Games Basketball to be held in Hangzhou, China.
