After both Serbia and Italy humiliated Gilas Pilipinas in back to back encounters to open the group stages of the 2019 FIBA World Cup, head coach Yeng Guiao pointed out the difference in competing in the Asian level and the international level.
Gilas Pilipinas head coach Yeng Guiao had high praise for PBA rookies CJ Perez and Robert Bolick, who both made the final 12-man roster for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.
With injuries to main wing men Marcio Lassiter and Matthew Wright, it seemed Guiao was virtually left with no choice but to include both Perez and Bolick for the final 12.
As part of their preparation for the 2019 FIBA World Cup, Gilas Pilipinas will face the Adelaide 36ers in 2 tune-up games on August 23 and 25 at the Meralco Gym.
Rain or Shine Head Coach Yeng Guiao has been suspended for 1 game and fined P40,000 for “yelling invectives at the referees and technical group” in the Rain or Shine vs Mahindra game where he was ejected from the game before halftime.
