Gilas Pilipinas Head Coach Chot Reyes is preparing to lead Gilas Pilipinas during the 3-day Training Camp in Tagaytay in preparation for the 2017 SEABA Championship this May.

Gilas Pilipinas Head Coach Tab Baldwin has been tapped to also coach the SEABA and SEA Games team. The Southeast Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) Championships will be held in Singapore from April 27 to May 3, 2015 while the 2015 Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) will also be held in Singapore from June 5 to 16, 2015.

Tab Baldwin has agreed to a 4-year contract with the option to renew for another year if we qualify for the 2019 FIBA World Cup. First Tournament of our new Gilas Coach is the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship in Wuhan, China which will give us a chance to compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics if we win the tournament.

After a meeting between Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes and the Philippine Basketball Association, the PBA Board of Governors agreed to compress the PBA 39th Season which now ends July 15 by shortening the PBA Commissioners Cup and Governors Cup Finals to a best-of-5 series and also moving the opening of the PBA 40th Season to October 19 after the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea which starts September 19.
This gives Chot Reyes 45 days to prepare with a complete team for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain which starts August 30 and the 2014 Asian Games in South Korea. But practices start every Monday after the current PBA Philippine Cup.
