Gilas Pilipinas defeated Thailand in the Finals of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games Basketball held last December 10 at the Mall of Asia Arena. Philippines won the Gold Medal while Thailand settled for the Silver.

The Gilas Pilipinas Men’s national basketball team asserted its might over Thailand for a masterful 115-81 victory in the gold medal match of the 30th Southeast Asian Games Philippines 2019 basketball tournament Tuesday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila.
As has been the trend, the Philippines once again flipped the switch in the third quarter with a 40-15 rampage that pushed their lead to an unreachable level.

Japeth Aguilar had a perfect shooting night to help Gilas Pilipinas overcame a sloppy start and pull away from Thailand’s challenge, 108-53 in the 2017 SEABA Championships on Tuesday, May 16 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The 6-foot-9 Aguilar scored a Gilas tournament-high 23 points on an unblemished 10-of-10 shooting from the field, leading 72 bench points for the national team. He added five rebounds and two blocks. Calvin Abueva added 15 points and six assists while Andray Blatche and Terrence Romeo each tallied 11 points.
Japeth Aguilar scored 23 points and grabbed 5 rebounds to lead Gilas Pilipinas against Thailand in the 2017 SEABA Championship. Aguilar was perfect from the field 9/9 from 2 and 1/1 from 3 including 4 big dunks.
