Barangay Ginebra San Miguel was eliminated last night by Talk N Text, 83-67. The last championship of Ginebra was 6 years ago in 2008 when Jong Uichico was still head coach, who is now the head coach of Talk N Text.

KIA Sorento defeated Blackwater Elite, 80-66 in the 1st game of the PBA 40th Season at the Philippine Arena. LA Revilla led KIA with 23 points, KIA Playing Coach Manny Pacquiao played in his first PBA game did not score in 6 minutes of play.

In the second game, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel won against Talk N Text Tropang Texters, 101-81 led by Japeth Aguilar with 18 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks.
