SBP president Al Panlilio just announced the new Gilas Pilipinas Player Pool for 2017 led by Jayson Castro, Calvin Abueva, Terrence Romeo, Japeth Aguilar and June Mar Fajardo. 1st competition will be for the 2017 SEABA Championship this April headed by Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes.

San Miguel Beermen defeated Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in Game 4 of their 2016 PBA Governors Cup Best-of-Five Semifinals series. Marcio Lassiter led SMB with 25 points (7/9 from 3) while June Mar Fajardo with 17 points and 16 rebounds.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel defeated San Miguel Beermen in Game 3 of their 2016 PBA Governors Cup Best-of-Five Semifinals series. Japeth Aguilar made the game-winning jumper but rookie Scottie Thompson was named Best Player of the Game with a triple-double – 12 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel Beermen was named PBA Player of the Week for the period of August 22-28 in the 2016 PBA Governors Cup.
North All-Stars defeated South All-Stars, 154-151 led by Alex Cabagnot with 29 points who was named MVP in the 2016 PBA All-Star Game. Terrence Romeo with 25 points for North. June Mar Fajardo led South with 25 points.
