Gilas Pilipinas will participate in the 2024 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifers and SBP and Gilas Pilipinas Head Coach Tim Cone announced the 12-man Gilas Pilipinas Roster for the 1st window this February 2024.

Gilas Pilipinas‘ FIBA World Cup debacle is now an afterthought.

So are all the years of disappointment on and off the hardcourt.

With a ragtag group assembled just weeks ago and last-minute insertions that doomed Gilas’ already humble expectations, the squad wrested the 19th Asian Games men’s basketball gold via a 70-60 decision over upstart powerhouse Jordan on Friday at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center in China.

Justin Brownlee led Gilas Pilipinas with 33 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists including back-to-back three point shots to finish the comeback against host China after being down by 18 points at the half. The win setup a rematch against Jordan for the Gold Medal tomorrow, October 6, 8pm at the 2023 Asian Games.
