Philippines now No. 27 in FIBA World Ranking
Philippines moved 1 step from No. 28 to No. 27 in the FIBA World Ranking which was updated after the 2016 Rio Olympics. Philippines is ranked No. 3 in Asia while China still at No. 1 (14 overall) and Iran at No. 2 (25 overall).

In 2014, China lost to Gilas Pilipinas for the Bronze Medal in the FIBA Asia Cup (Now called FIBA Asia Challenge). But in 2015, China took the title in the FIBA Asia Championship by beating Gilas Pilipinas in the Finals.
