If the naturalization of JaVale McGee and Andray Blatche pushes through before the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, one player from Gilas Pilipinas will surely be replaced by either McGee or Blatche and that is Marcus Douthit because in FIBA Tournaments, only 1 naturalized player can play per tournament. FIBA has awarded the 4 Wild Card slots to Brazil, Finland, Greece and Turkey completing the 24 teams in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain. No other teams from Asia in the 2014 FIBA World Cup aside from Iran, Philippines and South Korea. Italy, Germany and China withdrew their bids for the Wild Cards before the announcement.
