Gilas Pilipinas Youth lost to Australia, 92-36 in the semifinals of the 2023 FIBA U16 Asian Championship held in Doha, Qatar. Kiefer Alas was held to just 2 points as no Gilas Pilipinas U16 player scored in double digits.

Australia led since the start of the game, holding Philippines to just 7 points in the 1st quarter and just 3 points in the 2nd quarter as they led at halftime, 45-10.

In the other Semifinals match, New Zealand defeated China, 86-69, it will be Australia vs New Zealand in the finals while Gilas Pilipinas Youth vs China for the Bronze Medal on September 24, but all these 4 teams have secured their slots in the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey.
