Philippines defeats Jordan, 72-64

Game Highlights:
– Jordan led by as much as 16 points, 27-11 in the 1st quarter
– Marcus Douthit led Smart Gilas with 19 points and 15 rebounds, Douthit injured in his ankle in the 3rd quarter but came back after a few minutes
– Marcio Lassiter played big in his 1st game in the FIBA Asia Championship scoring 14 points with 4 rebounds and 2 assists
– Jimmy Alapag scored in double figures with 11 points
– Chris Tiu scored 9 points, 7 in the 1st half
– Jordan had the edge in rebounding, 53-43
– Jordan placed the game under protest due to both teams being informed before the game that Lutz and Lassiter cannot play and then in the 1st quarter were already allowed to play already.

    It’s a blessing in disguise because we are now parading fresh legs in the persons of Lassiter and Lutz through out the tournament it will surely be a positive sign for the Gilas Team, congrats to the team wherein they showed mental toughness and heart against the Jordan team !

    cgro kng lumamang ng malaki ang Jordan….cgrado nd na mag protest yan….mga nd makatanggap ng talo…kya go go lang!!! team pilipinas!!!! kahit may isa taung naturalize na 2mu2long satn pra mka step forward sa mga nxt game although malaking bagay cia sa defense….nd lng nman c douthit ang reason kng bakit tau nanalo…kung nd rin sa hard defense na gngawa ng mga local player ……………we bilieve in you guys!!!!!until the end never say die!!!!!good job in ur previous games….bounce is not always go to giants…Gud luck SG!!!!!PILIPINAS!!!

      ano kamo? local players? sa line up ng smart gilas, ilan lang silang 100% pure local! puro questionable filams mga kasama dyan. kung di natin kaya mag produce ng 100% locals like the chinese and koreans, wag na tayong sumali sa fiba. di ko rin kasi ramdam ang panalo kung alam mong mga questionableng pinoy like asi taulava and the likes ang mga kumakatawan sa bansa natin

        koreans meron din naman naturalized player si jarod stevenson nga naging moon tae-jong. ang mga filams natin meron naman talagang dugong pinoy. at legal naman yan sa FIBA rules. Kahit Spain meron din naturalized si Serge Ibaka. Sa france si joakim noah half american and french din siya. lalo na si tony parker naglaro sa france pero wala siyang dugong french kasi american ang tatay at dutch naman ang nanay. pero sa france siya lumaki. so magiging french dahil na aquire niya ang kanyang citizenship before 16 yrs old.

        ang importante nag represent sila sa pilipinas at binigay nila lahat ang makakaya nila.

        Ikaw pinoy@stig pure pinoy kaba? baka ang great grand parents mo nanggaling sa Africa.

        HIndi naman lahat tayo pure pinoy. dahil ang totoong Filipino na dugo ay ang mga aeta, igorot, lumad, mangyan at iba pang mga tribu.ang karamihan sa atin meron nang mga dugong spanish, american, hapon, chinese.

        si chris tiu, sa tingin mo pure filipino siya? may halong chinese yata yan ha.

        Will just follow the fiba rules. if allowed by the rules. why not represent the philippines.

        Kung pure pinoy ang hahanapin mo, ay mag hanap kana sa mga tribu at e train mo ng basketball.

Buti n lng na clear n mag play cna lutz at lassiter, hirap tau dun s china pg wala cla, wlang slasher. wlang makapag create o mag initiate pgdting s opensa kya c Coach toroman was pleading to them to execute un plays, hirap tlga pg mata2ngkad kalaban, bka mainam nyan adjust s rotation ng players ksi umaasa tau s speed, un ang style n gsto ni Coach T kaya knuha nya mdyo maliit pero mabibilis, ksi kun maliit k n at pagod k p, kht s pag talon ano p maga2wa m s matangkad, hehe? Logic lng. Ok lng skin khit matalo bsta nkita k n all out maglaro cla, proud n ak nun.
