Gilas Pilipinas Men crush Myanmar for spotless record in SEA Games elims

The Gilas Pilipinas Men national team way laid Myanmar, 136-67 in their final game of the 30th Southeast Asian Games Philippines 2019 basketball elimination round on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila for a spotless record entering the semi-finals.

Matthew Wright went scorching hot from three-point area, drilling 8-of-16 en route to a game-high 29 points for the Philippines.

Vic Manuel dominated the paint once again, going 11-of-16 for 24 points. He also had 11 rebounds and five assists.

Five other nationals scored in double-digits in a game that showcased full domination from the home side.

The Philippines had 43 assists, 17 triples, and shot 56 percent overall from the field.

A 45-12 second quarter was all Gilas needed to break the game wide open as they will enter the semi-finals undefeated.

Aung Myint was a one-man show for Myanmar, making 28 points.

Head coach Tim Cone also chose not to field in Stanley Pringle and June Mar Fajardo for the game.

Quarterscores: 32-24, 77-36, 104-49, 136-67.
