In their 1st game of the 2023 Southeast Asian Games Men’s Basketball, Gilas Pilipinas beat Malaysia, 94-49 held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser led Philippines with 15 points along with 5 rebounds.

Justin Brownlee contributed 11 points as Gilas Pilipinas led by 36 points at halftime, 58-22. Mike Phillips had a great Gilas debut with 9 points, 15 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 blocks. Arvin Tolentino with 10 points.
