Gilas Pilipinas bounces back with a big win over Singapore
Gilas Pilipinas defeated Singapore, 105-45 in their final game of the 2023 SEA Games Group Phase held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Marcio Lassiter led Philippines with 16 points and was 4/7 from the three-point line.
CJ Perez finished with a double-double – 13 points and 11 rebounds. All-around performance by Justin Brownlee with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists , 2 steals and 1 block shot. Jerom Lastimosa also with 12 points.
Mike Phillips contributed 12 points and 9 rebounds as Philippines had their biggest lead at 63 points. Gilas Pilipinas had a good start with 29 points and limited Singapore to only 5 points in the 1st quarter.
Chris Newsome with 7 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 3 steals while Christian Standhardinger with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.
After a tough loss against host Cambodia, Gilas Pilipinas will advance to the Semifinals on May 15.
