Gilas Pilipinas Women defeated Kazakhstan, 83-59 in their Asian Games debut. Janine Pontejos led Philippines with 21 points (all from the three-point line).

jack Animam with a double double for Gilas Women – 12 points and 13 rebounds while Ana Alicia Castillo and Afril Bernardino scored 15 points and 11 points respectively.

Game was tied at the end of the 1st quarter, 17-all but our Gilas Pilipinas Women’s Basketball team held Kazakhstan to just 9 points in the 2nd quarter as they led at the half, 40-26.
