Gilas Pilipinas Basketball

Japan defeated Gilas Pilipinas Women, 96-59 in the last game of the preliminary round of the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. Janine Pontejos once again led Philippines with 13 points.

No other player from Gilas Pilipinas Women’s Basketball Team scored in double figures. Jack Animam and France Mae Cabinbin with 9 points each while Ana Alicia Castillo with 8 points.

Aika Harashita of Japan with 26 points as Gilas Women suffered their 1st loss in the tournament and will go up against South Korea in the quarterfinals on October 2, 8pm.
