The PBA players list above was sent by Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) as requested by Gilas Pilipinas Coach Tab Baldwin.

According to SBP, this is still a working list since players might still be added to the Gilas Pilipinas Player pool in the next few days.
Let us just focus on the players who made it to the Gilas Pilipinas player pool, for the players who have excuses either because of injury, personal reasons or other reasons, let us just move on and no more negative issues about them or their respective teams.
Laban Pilipinas!
It is really sad na hindi makakalaro because of injury (i doubt!) or hindi pinapayagan (true reason!) ang ilang eligible at most deserving players from the PBA. Especially, Junmar, Japeth and LA. They are three of the best players in the league right now and they should represent our country no matter what. Their employers should not exploit and prohibit them from playing for the country. This is typical Filipino politics! I think our legislators should start thinking of passing a law that would require every citizen to prioritize playing for the country should they be needed. In my own little way, I would boycott the companies and the players involved. It really hurt me coz these players are few of my favorites!

Ok na ako sa line up na yan, except Gary David and Tenorio nakikita natin la-os na laro nila nakita naman natin sa World Cup. Kailan ba nagkaroon ng magandang laro si David at Tenorio sa World Cup or kahit sa FIBA Manila qualifiers. At dahil sa laro ni Tenorio at Baracael sour loser pa rin ang taga Brgy. Genebra. Nasaan si Alamazan, Rosario, Parks? Pero desisyon yan ni Baldwin sya naman ma blame kung mangamote ang mga yan sa kangkungan.
Kung gusto ni Baldwin manalo, kukuha sya sa mga team na sanay manalo. Alaska, TnT, Purefoods, San Miguel, at ROS. Mga players dyan may winning attitude at di nagpapatalo ng basta basta. Take Germany for example ang lahat ng players nila sa FIFA world cup halos lahat taga Bayern Munich kasi ang mga players dun sanay manalo at ngayon sila na naman ang hari ng football. Tapos sa sasabin eh futball yun eto basketball. Ang sinasabi ko mentality ng mga manlalaro na sanay manalo.
Please coach T.B. replace Gary David and L.A. Tenorio. Try Almazan, Rosario or Parks they got youth and height. Lassiter can shoot with lights out, De Vance is not bad at SF position. P.J. Simon is unstoppable at end games he play a big part of the Purefoods grands slam. Try Arwind Santos he has changed then and with a high basketball IQ too. Its so frustrating to see David and Tenorio in the line up you’ll realise during the games on September that you made a mistake about this two but at that time it will be too late.
Ano kaya plano ni coach sa line up na to kasi sa Gilas Cadet he just let them play. Buti na lang nanalo ng gold sa sea games kundi baka gagawa sya ng history na pinaka unang foreign coach na nagpatalo sa Pilipinas sa SEA games basketball.
