sa tingin ko hindi kakayanin ng isang ping at enrico ang tangkad at versatility ng wang zhizhi at yi jianlian. they say ping is a great defender but i dought of his ability of depending an 7 footer who has an nba experience pba is different than the nba.

This should be the right smart gilas line-up:

    Point Guard:
Jimmy Alapag – A true point guard who can set plays for his team-mate.
Gabe Norwood – If we need a height for a point guard.
Jason Castro – who can slash the paint to create space for his team-mate.
Willie Miller – A mix of castro and alapag.
(optional) Ryan Reyes – defense oriented guard, but needs to learn the point guard position.

    Shooting Guard:
James Yap – shooting is what he does best.
Gary David – slasher and finally a shooter, but needs to learn the art of passing.
Dondon Hontiveros – catch and shoot guard, one of the best defensive player for his position.

    Small Forward:
Jay Washington – Athletic and have the touch from outside, which a small forward must have.
Joe Devance – like jay wash, devance have the touch from outside, and a 6’7 that can handle the ball
Japeth Aguilar – Why force japeth to play the power forward and center position? his skills will be maximize if he is playing the 3 spot. but needs to develop his shooting from perimeter and the arc.
(optional) Kelly Williams – same with japeth he is best suit for SF position, he is optional because of his inconsistency and he always get the nerves during clutch games, especially international games.
(optional) Danny Seigle – If he still have the legs to play.

    Power Forward:
Ranidel De Ocampo – has the post moves and a shot from perimeter, and a drop pass that a power forward must have.
Sonny Thoss – can play the power forward and center position, but with his height of 6’7, he can not match the the center opponent, best thing is to send him to play the 4 spot.
Kerby Raymundo – same with Ranidel De Ocampo.

    Center:
Marcus Douthit or Javale Mcgee – whoever is available, center with the height against other opponents.
Rafi Reavis – A born center that can play defense, but needs to develop his scoring skills and his body against bulky opponent.
Yancy De Ocampo – height with an outside shot, but needs to develop his defensive skills and athleticism.
(optional) Asi Taulava – If he still have the legs to play
(optional) Greg Slaughter – A 7 footer that is not naturalized, But still needs so many things to develop.

    Coaching Staff:
Tim cone – triangle offense his a best tool for international games
Franz Pumaren / Aric Del Rosario / Norman black – succesful coaches in amateur rules in collegiate leagues which almost the same with FIBA rules.
Rajko Toroman – The man which is exposed in international leagues.
Yeng Guaio – The coach that is a player improver/developer.
Chot Reyes – Coach with so many critics, but still we must admit chot is a coach that knows how to handle a lots of stars in his team.

I hope this comment can give an idea for the smart gilas creator.
This will increase our chance for international games.

medyo kulang tayo sa height….China team average height is 6’7″. 5 players nsa 6’11” pataas ang height. Kailangan sumabay tyo sa height sa ilalim. sa ibabaw need natin shooter na meron taas…train na rin natin yung mga bata player natin

    Suggestion:

    C – Douthit/McGee, Thoss, Slaugter
F- Aguilar, Willams, Pingris, De Ocampo
    G – Norwood,David,Yap,Lassiter, Fonacier, Casio

Combination : C, PF, SF, SG, PG
    1. McGee/Douthit, Williams, De Ocampo, Yap/Fonacier, Norwood
    2. Thoss, Pingris, Aguilar, Lassiter/David, Casio
    >>balance yung taas, bilis at shooting

  5. maki131 says:

    ..

    opinion ko lang naman 😀

I respect the decision of Coach Chot Reyes ..
