Start of the 2015 PBA Governors Cup Quarterfinals yesterday as Purefoods Star Hotshots forced a do-or-die game by beating GlobalPort Batang Pier by 53 points and Alaska Aces eliminated Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, after being down by as much as 16 points.

Alaska Aces stopped the 8-game winning streak of San Miguel Beermen in Panabo City, Davao del Norte. Alaska (8-2) now No. 1 at the end of the elimination round even if they lose in their last game and SMB (8-3) takes the No. 2 spot, both with twice-to-beat advantage in the Quarterfinals of the 2015 PBA Governors Cup.
