PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial vowed nothing but the best support from the country’s premier professional basketball league when Gilas Pilipinas starts preparing for their 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup campaign later this year.
After almost 2 years of competition, the FIBA Qualifiers is over and 32 teams qualified for the 2019 FIBA World Cup to be held in China from August 31 to September 15, 2019.
Kobe Bryant will be the special guest in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Draw to determine the groups for the FIBA World Cup. The draw will also feature singer Jason Derulo to be held on March 16, 6:30pm Manila Time in Shenzhen Bay Arena, China.
There are 7 slots for Asia in the 2019 FIBA World Cup excluding China which is the host. Gilas Pilipinas took the final slot after being the best 4th placed team in Group E & F.

The new Home and Away System will be implemented in the 2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers where teams will get to play at home and at the opponents home court. 2019 FIBA World Cup will be held in China.
