Mac Belo out of Gilas Pool for SEABA 2017
Mac Belo will undergo surgery on his left knee (meniscus tear) and is out of the Gilas Pilipinas player pool for the 2017 SEABA Championship which will be held from May 12-18.

Allein Maliksi will replace Paul Lee, who currently has a knee injury in the Gilas Pilipinas Player Pool as representative of Star Hotshots as announced by Coach Chot Reyes in the 1st day of the 3-day training camp of Gilas for the 2017 SEABA Championship this May.

SBP president Al Panlilio just announced the new Gilas Pilipinas Player Pool for 2017 led by Jayson Castro, Calvin Abueva, Terrence Romeo, Japeth Aguilar and June Mar Fajardo. 1st competition will be for the 2017 SEABA Championship this April headed by Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes.

New Gilas Pilipinas Player Pool will be announced on January 22, 2017 after the Alaska Aces vs Mahindra Floodbuster game in the 2017 PBA Philippine Cup. Then Barangay Ginebra vs Phoenix Fuel Masters after the announcement.

New Gilas Pilipinas Player Pool to be announced on Jan 22
The new Gilas Pilipinas Player Pool which is composed of the 12 Gilas PBA Rookies and 1 Player from each PBA team will be announced on January 22 during the PBA game at the PhilSports Arena.

PBA to release 2 players per team for Gilas Pilipinas
Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement that each PBA team will lend 2 players to the Gilas Pilipinas player pool.
This means that there will be 24 players in the Gilas Pilipinas Player Pool, 12 coming from the recent special Gilas PBA rookie draft and 12 will be chosen by Coach Chot Reyes.
