Mac Baracael – (the slot to Kelly Williams)
Jeff Chan (retain, pure shooter on our team)
Gary David (retain, streak shooter once get hot)
Ranidel De Ocampo (retain, High IQ Big Man)
    Marcus Douthit (retain, enuf sed!)
Larry Fonacier (retain, back up shooter)
Garvo Lanete – (slot to Jimmy Alapag – much proven on int’l play)
Sol Mercado (retain, a revelation as a team player and good defender)
Gabe Norwood (retain, better international player than in PBA, hehehe)
JR Reyes (vacant slot, to another bigman or to Jayson Castro)
Matt Rosser (unproven, no playing time so im not sure, but a learning experience can be helpful in the future because of height as a PG)
LA Tenorio (retain, very close of elimination, until his 2 last MVP Caliber Games)
Sonny Thoss (retain, a big with medium range jumper)
Enrico Villanueva (Slot to Mic Penissi, we need a back up center and with a three, Sonny Thoss can play at PF from time to time)

it is best to remove rosser, villanueva, fonacier and reyes from the team..
we could perhaps tap in fajardo, williams, washington and lutz for now, i dont think yap could do well internationally, he sucks!

my best final line-up for FIBA Asia-Cup:

    5. Centers ****************Douthit
    Slaughter

    4. power forwards**********Fajardo
    Aguilar

    3. small forwards**********R. de Ocampo
    Williams

    2. shooting guards*********David
    Chan
    Fonacier

    1. point guards************Norwood
    Mercado
    Tenorio

Ocampo is very athletic and can assume the 3-4 positions with ease.
Norwood is a versatile player that can handle the 1-2-3 positions effectively. He can be utilized at point guard if the opponent has a taller PG being 6’5″ in height.
Our 6 guards (SG/PG) rotation was excellent and surely should be retained.
Williams is an excellent addition both inside and outside game.
Slaughter is a collegiate standout firstly in the US prior to his playing in Cebu collegiate (playing for UV) and commercial league, now playing for Ateneo.
Fajardo dominated the Cebu collegiate (playing for UC) and commercial league and now the no.1 pick for PBA.
We all know Aguilar, he’s very athletic.
No one can contest the ability and heart of Douthit, he’s more than a Filipino.
Slaughter, Fajardo and Aguilar should train hard to internalized themselves to the team and need to be reminded that they are playing for country and honor just like the rest of the team members.
    Thanks…

    • NASH U says:

@Rosser at 6’5″ is tall for a point guard and can also play 2-3 position, though still very raw but he has already internalized himself with the team, has a good attitude even though he was seldom used. He will be a good reserve.

@Yancy de Ocampo is the older brother of Ranidel, very mobile and an excellent inside game (our counterpart of PGasol). He’s 6’9″ who can do the 4-5 positions but age?.If ever can be a good reserve…

  10. pjmm says:

    Replacements:

    Villanueva – Williams
    Rosser – Dillinger/Aguilar
Reyes – Slaughter (graduating na sa admu)
    Lanete – Lassiter (if pumayag)

Gusto ko rin sa palitan si Mercado para kay Casio kaso masyado nang maliit ang point guards ng gilas kung ganyan.
