Batang Gilas lost to Croatia in FIBA U17 1st game

Kai Sotto with 23 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks in his 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup debut but Batang Gilas lost to Croatia, 97-75 in their opening game held in Argentina.

Croatia started the game with an 8-0 run led by Mated Rujan who finished with 16 points. Terrence Fortea scored 14 points (4/6 from three) for Philippines while Raven Cortez contributed 13 points. Carl Tamayo with 12 points and 8 rebounds but committed 5 turnovers.

Batang Gilas committed 28 turnovers but outrebounded Croatia, 46-36.
