You guys are disapointing. You beat jordan twice in this tournament, not to mention in jones cup too. How come u lost today? Unbelievable. You guys are inconsistent, believing after the fist half things are gonna get better but it didn’t..infact, it gotten worse. Jordan’s 3 pointers are going in when in fact in the 1st half they can’t make one single 3. I don’t believe this smart gilas program any more. You guys just play in the pba…sorry to say but your skills and mindset you guys have right now are not for international competition.

You know its been quite disappointing but still,through out the game,specially when we cut(Team Jordan) there lead up 1pt,and i thought while watching the game,,we will go strong but sad to say we lost but still have the chance to grab the bronze tom,and hoping for the best,but i wish for the next FIBA championship our team is much prepared and much taller than our team today,wishing all the best for tomorrows game and for the (COACHES)specially on the head COACH you did a splendid job of making this team believe on them selves and filipino’s are hoping for the FUTURE,keep up the good work and make your team STRONGER and taller NEXT time,, thanks!!!
@Disapointed- cgurado bagong tao ka palang sa larangan ng basketball and international competetion. ang makarating sa FIBA semis ay di madali. ang forcast nga ng TEAM hanggang 5th place pero sureness 4th place tayo (kung matatalo ng Korea)Guyz….wag tayong basta na lang maka pag post masabi lang…I AM VERY PROUD SA PHIL. GILAS…honestly naging THREAT kayo sa lahat ng team……….

Smart Galis is a joke. They should better stick to PBA for there is where their skills do belongs.
Always relying on the Imports and Fil-am’s A-game. Aguilar should’ve been in the game playing interior defense helping douthit to dismantle Jordan’s interior passing and offensive rebounds, he would’ve been fresh off the bench considering he didn’t play the last game, compare to Williams who was obviously tired. Lassiter should’ve given a go-signal to take it more against Dagles (i’m not sure of the spelling), who already had 4 fouls with on the last 18mins of the game. Toroman is the best coach we’ve had for Philippine international basketball since Joe Lipa, but today, he was mediocre for he was outcoached by his counterpart.

@disappointed. you better shut your mouth. it happens in a game. there were mental lapses on part of the players as they missed a lot of easy shots. mental lapses also on the part of the coaches. they let lassiter took a lot of shots when it isn’t going in and toroman did not even do a necessary step to replace him. toroman should have let aguilar play as jordanians are tall guys. we might have a better chance of rebounding the ball. I still believe in this smart gilas program. they were together just in 2009 but I may say they already achieved a lot including making it to the final four for fiba asia. good luck for the game tomorrow. if we win, at least we can still play for olympic qualifier but with slim chance as opponents there are tougher and taller.
Sana po manalo kayo bukas!!! Huwag niyo po pakinggan yung nasa taas na hindi man lang maispell ng tama yung name niya… Simula po ng mabuo ang team naniniwala ako na someday maabot din niyo ang itaas dahil masipag naman po kayo lahat at dedicated… Win or lose ang mahalaga po ibinigay niyo lahat ng makakaya niyo balang araw magiging #1 din kayo!!!

Our Gilas boys played tentatively today.. It seems they were not able to conquer there nervousness for today’s game due to extreme pressure to deliver. Still its a great run.. A little more time and we can conpete heads up with anybody in the world.. Congrats Gilas!!!

I’m a bit frustrated in how you played this game, Jordan shows they want it more, your this close to being the champions and you didn’t grab it, The luck may not come anymore (the groupings and iran being knocked out), We could have adjusted, Right after the third quarter I knew we will gonna lose this one. Hey Jimmy, you’re taking too long to set up in the half court, you are not in the PBA, you have ruined the tempo although you have made the right decision in driving to the basket, yes we should have drove to the basket knowing they are in the zone like Lutz did although he was blocked in an attempt doing that but it was the only way, for when they swarm on the slasher some gets open and i can’t beleive coach T, but with all respects you should not have let Jimmy do what he was doing (slowing things up), you should have go to Casio as the point.
Precisely dissapointing. First quarter pa lang low energy n lazy play. How come Chris Tiu played most of the time even if he can’t execute a play & a shot. dapat binigyan ng opurtunity sina Baracael & Aguilar. Si tiu is only 5’10 no sure ball shot & very predictable passes. i hope someday pag dating sa International competition. We can get a tall shooting guard above 6’5 players. hinde ubra pang PBA or Barangay ang height na shooting guards or forward. ok lng kung pt. guard. Kudos to Douthit,De Ocampo,Lassiter,Casio & Alapag. The rest revamp!

Without Douthit Smart Gilas will not be in the Semis. Lets face it Basketball is a height game.You should get a tall players and the develop them into their height position. Only in the Philippines were a 5 footer can play an off guard or even a forward. That’s why the popularity of the PBA decline because it’s just like watching the 80′s pro. No improvement at all. i hope Someday the Phils will revolionize basketball by getting tall players to develop.
Why is it Chis Tiu take alot of time than other players. Where is Aguilar & Baracael? they could match up better with tall Jordanian. Parang nanood ako ng PBA or midgets. Time to get a Filipino tall players then exactly revolitionize Phils basketball.
win or lose, happy pa rin at least we have achieve to be in the final 4 after 24 yrs of try to push through our dreams… Much worst is iran they are undefeated but they are defeated by jordan and lose thier chance to the final four. What a come back for jordan they play well than smart gilas coz they study our play well. So they win. Let it be our lesson for our defeat. Smart gilas not sa smart enough to win the game but they were great to be in the final four. I still believe in thier skill and talents we must support smart gilas specially they need encouragement to win the next game.

Lazy start typical PBA play.Without Douthit Smart Gilas will not be in Semis. Let’s face it we cannot compete internationally w/o an import. yung height ng Phils ay pang PBA or inter Barangay. Only in the Phils were both two 5 footer can play at the same time and be shooting guard or a forward. that’s what happen sa Gilas vs Jordan. Kaya bumaba rating ng PBA kasawa walang tall players to watrch.its time to revolutionize Phils basketball get a 6’5 above guards n forward and develop them by height position./ why Chris Tiu took much of the time where he cannot set a play or make a shot. where is Aguilar & Baracael? they can match up better. Wala cl magawa nun naka zona kaya nga sbi k slashing going hard to the basket ang kelangan ksi nag sswarm un Jordanians s slasher knowing no legit shotblocker ang Jordan,den may mga kick out sna kso wala gsto gmwa nun from the guards/Small forwards alangan naman c douthit pa slashin m e d naagaw n bola, take a close look on how the koreans play, they dribble drive, pg ala benta s tres they took 3-4 dribbles in the perimeter and they took the shot.that’s international play, ganun ang atake s zona. Nop, I don’t think Japeth would be effective eithr s zone, I’m looking at Baracael coz He attacks the perimeter often,

@Dissappointment: Its not that simple champions are not made over night kahit na may heart and determination pa isang team may proseso na kailangan madaanan. Considering na ang smart gilas 3years palang nag lalaro together it’s a big improvement for them. I believe we are in the right direction we just have to learn from our mistakes, aim for perfection and stick with our system. Go smart gilas beat korea so that we can go to the olypic qualifying tournament! They may not win there they sure need all the exposure they can get. Go team gilas!

I think our defence is good but Jordan defense is much better. And the main factor that we lost the game is because of our shooting mas halong malas nadin. And one more thing I think we it did not put to our advanyage na natalo na natin ang jordan so we can beat the,. na pressure ang players and it shows sa offense natin. Sanay tyo sa underdog eh. Anyway sana matalo natin korea because I dont know why we cant beat this team for a long time.
Ive been an avid fan of our national team since a child. I must say that this is the most formidable, trained and well prepared we had so far! Guys all my heart and respect to you all! I wish i could have been there at wuhan myself. Im a frustrated basketball player. I must say these to you guys that you carry my dreams with you and so far I’m so proud of you all! Heads up! You may not please everybody but for me, the sacrifice you have given is proof enough of your patriotism! and for that you will be revered!
Japeth stay with the team. You may not be used a lot. But if you would think it hard, you are the future of the team! you’re young and needs more time to grow and develop basketball IQ. You have a lot of fans and everytime you enter the game, we are always excited. Be patient lang and your time to shine will come!
Hats off to coach toroman. You’ve been coaching well. But of course there are some things we don’t understand with regards with your decisions.
Marcus, stay with the team. We all know that you know that you are the vital cog of the team. Be patient with your teammates. give it a couple of years, with the addition of big men in the future pool, you will find yourself playing in the olympics! I admire your intelligence on the court. Si Barok & Tiu wasted sa team pag handel ng bola parang laging lamang ang bagal it took 15 seconds before they pass. Parang PBA laro ang bagal. Bigyan ng more time sila Baracael at Aguilar sayang yung height & speed nila sa court. Saludo din ako kila Douthit,Ocampo,Williams & lassiter. (next time get a tall players) height is might in basketball!
