Juan Gomez de Liaño MVP and Kai Sotto ROY in UAAP Juniors
Juan Gomez de Liaño of UPIS was named Most Valuable Player in the UAAP Season 79 Mens Juniors Basketball while Kai Sotto of Ateneo was named Rookie of the Year.
Juan Gomez de Liaño averaged 9.1 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals as the UP Junior Maroons finished with a 5-9 record and a couple of wins short of a Final Four appearance.
6’9 Kai Sotto with an average of 4.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks for the Ateneo Blue Eaglets. He will play for Batang Gilas in the SEABA U16 this May 2017.
