No more limit per PBA Team for Gilas Pilipinas

Gilas Pilipinas

New PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial and the PBA Board removed the limit on the no. of PBA players per team for Gilas Pilipinas. This means Gilas Coach Chot Reyes will have a free hand in choosing any PBA player no matter how many from each team.

Under the old agreement of the PBA and SBP, there can be just 1 cadet and 1 PBA veteran per team in the Gilas Pilipinas player pool.

Gilas Pilipinas will face Australia on February 22 in Melbourne and Japan on February 25 at the Mall of Asia Arena for Window 2 of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Who do you think should Coach Chot Reyes add in the Gilas Pilipinas player pool?

One Response to No more limit per PBA Team for Gilas Pilipinas

  1. Gigi Melba says:

I strongly believe that Bradwyn Guinto should be back in the pool, given he was selected for Gilas in 2017 when he was in NLEX. However due to his transfer to GlobalPort, he unfortunately missed out on the opportunity to play for the Philippines due to the limit on number of players per team.
It was unfortunate that because of the transfer in teams, he was removed from Gilas. Now that the rule about the number of players per team has been removed, he should be given another chance to play for the country.
He deserves an opportunity to be part of Gilas.
