Gilas Pilipinas has been practicing since Monday, September 11 at the Philsports Arena and Calvin Abueva now back at Gilas for the Asian Games still continues practicing with the team even with a dislocated thumb and an injured left hand.

Gilas Pilipinas Coach Chot Reyes will have 15 days to fully prepare for the 2017 SEABA Championship. The PBA Board allowed the release of the PBA players which will be chosen to play for SEABA to train for Gilas 15 days before the tournament which starts on May 12 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
