Gilas Pilipinas gets back at Senegal
Gilas Pilipinas beat Senegal, 75-63 in their rematch in the Heyuan WUS International Basketball Tournament in China. AJ Edu led Philippines with 15 points and 7 rebounds including a clutch three point shot to extend the lead of Gilas at the end of the 4th quarter.
Philippines lost to Senegal last Friday but Coach Chot Reyes was able to make some adjustments in this game as Gilas got their revenge and is now 2-1 in the tournament and will face Iran in their last game on August 7, 2023.
Senegal led in the 1st 3 quarters and was still leading by 6 at the end of the 3rd, 53-47. A run by Gilas Pilipinas at the start of the 4th quarter were led by CJ Perez who finished with 14 points and Ray Parks Jr, who scored all of his 8 points in the 4th quarter.
Dwight Ramos contributed 12 markers and 8 boards while June Mar Fajardo with 11 points.
