Gilas Pilipinas lost to Senegal in Heyuan WUS Tournament
Gilas Pilipinas lost to Senegal, 72-64 in their 2nd game of the Heyuan WUS International Basketball Tournament held in China. June Mar Fajardo led Philippines with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
Game was very close in the 1st 3 quarters but Gilas got cold in the 4th quarter scoring only 11 points. Dwight Ramos and CJ Perez with 11 points each while Jamie Malonzo contributed 9 points.
Senegal who did not qualify in the FIBA World Cup but will play in the 2024 Pre-Olympic qualifying tournament is now 2-0 in the tournament.
Now with a 1-1 record, Gilas Pilipinas will face Iran and Senegal again on August 6 and 7, more details at Gilas Pilipinas will play against Iran and Senegal in China
